LUCA GIANLUCA EGIDI – MEMBER OF THE 2024 ASSEMBLY
Hello everyone, it is a great pleasure for me to be part of this international event and to be able to present a topic that is very dear to me and on which I have been working for years.
- For some years I have focused on the treatment of diabetes with excellent results, leading to healing of 80% of my patients.
- Today I can say that WE CAN TREAT DIABETES AT THE TABLE.
- Type 2 diabetes is based on bad eating habits and an incorrect lifestyle, which first lead to hyperglycemia, up to the chronic disease for which insulin therapy is necessary. Can it be treated at the table? SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH EXPLAINS HOW TO MAKE DIABETES RECOVER WITH DIET
- The clinical study, conducted by me, has shown that by acting on the eating habits of patients affected by type 2 diabetes it is possible to make the disease regress. 100 patients were examined, followed for 2 years. These were overweight or obese subjects, with type 2 diabetes diagnosed less than 6 years earlier and undergoing insulin therapy.
- The study participants were divided into two groups. The first group received standard therapy, with insulin. The second group, however, did not receive pharmacological therapy, but was subjected to nutritional changes. Specifically, for these diabetic patients, a low-calorie diet but rich in essential nutrients was planned, in which meal replacements were administered over a period of 12-20 weeks.
- After this first diet cycle, in the following 2-8 weeks, the various foods were progressively reintroduced. The clinical data, for this group of patients undergoing calorie restriction, showed a total remission of diabetes.
- This condition was maintained in the two years following the end of the study. In practice, individuals who had followed the low-calorie nutritional intervention, maintained a reduction in body weight of at least 15 kg and benefited from a complete remission of diabetes, without having to take insulin therapy.
- A further analysis of the data revealed that the percentage of remission of diabetic disease rose to 98% in subjects who had maintained a reduction in body weight of at least 10 kg.
- This underlines how important it is to maintain a healthy weight, in order to have results that are also long-lasting. THE SOLUTION TO CURE DIABETES IS WITHIN EVERYONE’S REACH
